Family Medicine · Certified valuation
A certified opinion of value grounded in panel analytics — because family medicine isn't valued like a procedure shop.
Owner compensation restates to employed family physician benchmarks — typically revealing more owner earnings than the tax return suggests. One-time EHR transitions, pandemic-era visit anomalies, and family members on payroll come out. Value-based payments get separated from fee-for-service and tested for repeatability: a quality bonus earned three years running is durable EBITDA; a one-time incentive isn't. The normalized cash flow that emerges is usually the first honest picture an owner has seen of what the practice earns.
The income approach typically leads: family medicine value is a cash flow story, capitalized at a rate reflecting panel attrition risk, payer mix, and provider dependence. The market approach benchmarks against primary care transactions — system acquisitions, FQHC deals, physician-to-physician sales — adjusted for panel and contract quality. The asset approach sets a floor that matters mainly in low-earnings or wind-down scenarios. Every conclusion reconciles all three, USPAP-compliant.
Retirement and sale pricing (see family medicine brokerage); employment-versus-independence decisions; partner buy-ins; divorce, where long-tenured panels raise sharp personal-goodwill questions; SBA financing for younger physician buyers.
We scope the right tier on your discovery call, so you never pay for more report than your purpose requires.

We normalize to sustainable full-operation economics and disclose the adjustment — but buyers will note the panel's response to reduced access. Sometimes the dip reveals attrition risk; sometimes it reveals untapped demand. The analysis distinguishes them.
Per-visit economics differ, and the valuation reflects that — but Medi-Cal panels carry specific value to FQHC and managed-care buyers who others ignore. Payer mix changes the buyer, not just the number.
Active panel counts and definitions, payer mix reports, provider-level productivity, value-based program statements, and your payer contracts. Most PM systems export these in minutes; we provide the exact list after the discovery call.
Yes. Valuation engagements are handled remotely from our California office. We work from your financials, interview you by phone or video, and send you the finished report. We have completed valuations in more than 35 states, and an on-site visit can be arranged when an engagement calls for it. Many physicians have no local appraiser who focuses on medical practices, so working with a specialist remotely often serves you better than hiring a generalist nearby.
